The beautifully printed book, Motorbike Tours of Europe: France Edition One, has ten of the best and most exciting self-guided motorbike tours in France, and is packed full of stunning photographs. It is a comprehensive, compact and invaluable A5 guide. The groundbreaking package comprises:

  • Tour 1: Cherbourg to Dinan
    Route: From Cherbourg to Dinan, exploring north east Brittany including St Malo, Cancale, Mont St-Michel and Cap Fréhel. Duration: 3-4 days.
  • Tour 2: Caen to Chauvigny
    Route: From Caen to Chauvigny, to specifically visit the memorial village at Oradour-sur-Glane (Centre de la Memoire D'Oradour). Duration: 3 days.
  • Tour 3: Caen to Ancy-le-Franc
    Route: From Caen to Ancy-le-Franc, exploring the northern part of Burgundy, renowned for its wines, cuisine and cheeses, along some amazing roads. Duration: 3-4 days.
  • Tour 4: Cherbourg to St Pol-de-Léon
    Route: From Cherbourg to St Pol-de-Léon in north west Brittany, exploring the delights of northern Finistère. Duration: 3 days (minimum).
  • Tour 5: Caen to Villeneuve
    Route: From Caen to Villeneuve on the Côte d'Azur in the south east. This tour includes the renowned 'Route Napoléon' (rated by riders throughout Europe as one of the best biking roads in France) and the stunning scenery in the Verdon Gorges. Duration: 7 days (minimum).
  • Tour 6: Caen to Les Eyzies
    Route: From Caen to Les Eyzies in the Dordogne. Great roads to ride on with amazing medieval places to visit and stunning prehistoric caves and rivers. Duration: 6 days (minimum).
  • Tour 7: Caen to Chenonceaux
    Route: From Caen to Chenonceaux in the Loire Valley, which includes two circular rides, one covering six of the most renowned châteaux in the region. Duration: 3 days (minimum).
  • Tour 8: Caen to Meyrueis
    Route: From Caen to Meyrueis on the edge of the Cévennes mountains. The ride out includes the Tarn and Jonte Gorges, the new bridge at Millau, Mont Aigoual and much more, riding along spectacular and challenging roads, with a stop off on the way back for a day in the Massif Central. Duration: 11 days (minimum).
  • Tour 9: Cherbourg to Carnac
    Route: From Cherbourg to Carnac in southern Brittany, exploring the rugged coastline and medieval towns and villages of the region. Duration: 3 days (minimum).
  • Tour 10: Caen to the Pyrénées
    Route: From Caen down the west coast of France, across the Pyrénées (via Andorra and briefly into Spain), to Carcassonne and back up through the Dordogne. Spectacular roads and views, stunning scenery and very challenging riding in places! Duration: 10 days (absolute minimum).

The Guide Book
Within the book, each tour contains a Summary (duration and distances - in both miles and kilometers), a Tour Overview, very detailed Route Descriptions for each day of riding, What To Do When You Get There (details of places to visit and the best roads to ride on, including numerous GPS co-ordinates for all the major places) and a comprehensive list of suggested Hotels, B&B's and Campsites to stay in. Where available, this includes their telephone, fax, email, and web addresses, GPS co-ordinates, and useful notes including an indication of prices charged. Towards the back of the book are sections on Touring Tips, To Do and Packing Lists, Useful Information whilst travelling in France (including legal information, road signs etc.), and details of the main Ferry Operators.

The Route Highlighted Road Map
The Road Map of France is a specially produced, detailed road map covering the whole of the country. This folded map is at a scale of 1 inch to 16 miles (1 cm to 10 kms). The outward and return routes for each of the ten tours in the book are highlighted on the map, so too are the stop-over towns on each route.

The Direction Cards
The Pack of 18 Route Direction Cards are A5 in size and have been specifically designed and produced to fit in the top of a tank bag. They give precise details (road numbers and towns) and directions for the outward and return journeys for each of the ten tours.
